About Public Experiment Platform
The Faculty's Public Experiment Platform (IP: 218.194.96.13) was built in September 2013. Under the management at both the University and Faculty level, it is a comprehensive platform for teaching, scientific research, discipline construction and talent training. The Platform provides analysis and testing, technical consultation, technical training, and instrument operation training services for teachers, students and enterprises inside and outside the University. This platform provides customized and targeted short-term training on testing principle/method/technology and practical operation and assigns technical personnel to offer consultation and training and practical technical guidance in customer units, serving as an innovative platform for training analysis and testing technical personnel. After several years of development, the platform now has large-scale precision instruments and equipment worth more than 20 million yuan, and has built a comprehensive research-oriented and open laboratory with modern analysis and testing methods and high testing performance.
Instruments and equipment are mainly divided into four categories: chemical analysis, biomedicine, pharmacy, and biological agents. Chemical analysis instruments mainly include ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, flame/graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatograph, and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. These instruments are used to provide high-resolution mass spectrometry, secondary mass spectrometry, qualitative scanning, various 1D/2D NMR spectra, UV-Vis spectrum analysis, and detection of trace metal elements in samples. Biomedical instruments mainly include laser confocal scanning microscope, inverted fluorescence microscope, high content cell imaging analysis system, flow cytometer, optical imaging system for small animal living bodies, fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument, and ultracentrifuge. Pharmaceutical equipment mainly consists of two production lines: the pilot production line of traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy and the pilot production line of chemical pharmacy, including universal crusher, ultrasonic extractor, filter, evaporation tank, concentrator, rectification tower, chromatographic column, spray dryer, rotary evaporator, mixer, granulator, rotary tablet press, packaging machine, high-pressure milk homogenizer, colloid mill, supercritical extraction device, freeze dryer, double-layer glass reaction kettle extraction unit, etc. It can be used for extraction/separation/concentration/drying/granulation/tabletting/packaging of Chinese herbal pieces/natural plants/active ingredients, supercritical extraction and separation of natural products, and low-temperature drying of non-volatile substances. Biological preparation equipment mainly includes a small beer production line, which can be used for 100 L beer production test, three-pots and two-tank saccharification, two-tank fermentation, and large-scale amplification culture of microorganisms.
The platform test team is well-trained and skilled, with 21 managers, instrument managers and operators, including 20 with a senior title, 1 with an intermediate title, 20 with a doctor's degree and 1 with master's degree. There is one technological innovation talent in Yunnan Province, one reserve talent for young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders in Yunnan Province, seven top-notch young talents in Yunnan Province's "Ten Thousand Talents Plan", one academic and technical leader in Kunming, and one reserve candidate for young and middle-aged academic and technical candidates in Kunming.
