This major has a four-year length of schooling with an engineering degree.

Features: It has been listed into national first-class undergraduate programs and as a major of eight industry brands in Yunnan Province. It is named an "Excellent Engineer" program in Yunnan Province and has gained two accreditations from CEEAA, ranking fifth in China. Boasting abundant qualified teachers, it is a main base for developing students into high-quality, interdisciplinary, senior pharmaceutical engineers in Yunnan Province. A total of 90 students are enrolled for the undergraduate program every year, each with an academic mentor. Relying on its disciplinary advantages, it opens more than ten national and provincial research platforms to undergraduates, pays equal attention to humanistic quality and professional attainments, and strikes a balance of theoretical and practical education in which students are taught hands-on skills to solve complex engineering problems.

Objective: To develop students into professional and technical persons who can adapt to the economic and social development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, have a professional perspective in pharmaceutical industry, the ability to exist and develop themselves in society, and professional attainments, address complex engineering problems preliminarily, and are competent for various positions in pharmaceutical industry. They can be categorized into independent employees, front-line managers or technicians, and active innovators.

Main courses: Pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical workshop design and equipment, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), pharmaceutical product marketing, production and graduation practice.

Job prospects: Students can be qualified for the positions of production and operation, sales and use, technical service and quality supervision in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as innovative R&D, and process and engineering design of pharmaceutical technology and products, finally to be promoted as technicians and managers.
