Practice is an important part of undergraduate teaching. Practice bases provide an important place to carry out practical teaching, cultivate students' engineering and practical ability and innovative spirit, and they are also a bridge for students to understand society and enterprises and contact with production practice. Bioengineering Center and Pharmaceutical Center attach great importance to the construction of off-campus and on-campus practice bases.

After years of dedicated efforts, the Bioengineering Center has set up several established off-campus practice bases in partnership with many domestic and overseas bioengineering enterprises such as Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Good Doctor Panxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Kunming Jinxing Beer Co., Ltd., Yunnan Lancangjiang Beer Group Nanhua Co., Ltd., Yunnan Lancangjiang Beer Group Baoshan Co., Ltd., Yunnan Raner Chemical Co., Ltd., Yuxi Jiahe Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yuxi Zerun Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yunnan Yunce Quality Inspection Co., Ltd., Yunnan Xingwei Beer Co., and Yunnan Kanghe Bioengineering Co.. A bioengineering training center has been set up in KUST, a pilot production line of biochemical products has been built, and production equipment is integrated and linked, which not only meets the daily training of students, but also gives attention to scientific research and development and serves the society. At present, one "National Engineering Practice Education Center-Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd." and 11 established practice bases outside the campus have been built. It covers industrial microbial fermentation, biopharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals and other areas.

It has set up established stable long-term internship bases in many companies like Pharmaceutical Center and Kunming Huarun Shenghuo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd.,Yunnan Longhai Natural Plant Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Yunnan Biovalley Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Yunnan Panlong Yunhai Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Yunnan Heping Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., and Sanjiu Group Kunming Baima Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. Pharmaceutical engineering training center and virtual simulation center have been established within KUST, which greatly meets students' daily training needs and support their scientific research.

The construction of practice bases provides a good foundation for students to carry out practical learning activities such as cognition practice, production practice, graduation practice, and graduation project. The above bases can fully meet the practical learning needs of students. The interaction and complementation of the on-campus and the off-campus bases provide strong support for the cultivation of students' engineering practice and innovation consciousness.
